1. How long will my session last?

At Scott Sylvia Photography, we believe that great portraits do not happen by accident. We schedule ample time to allow each client to feel relaxed and comfortable, as to assure that the creative process is realized. An environment where the subject feels safe and confident allows their true spirit to emerge. Our goal is to create more than just a likeness of that person, but to capture their true personality.

A studio session typically last between 45-60 minutes. For on location sessions we allow 60-90 minutes. For promotional sessions, please check the specials page of this website or call the studio for more details.

2. How much are session fees? Do these fees include portraits?

Your session is private and the fee includes the time to create your portraits, as well as a preportrait consultation to discuss your ideas. This fee does not include any portraits.

Studio sessions (1-3 people) are $99. Family studio sessions (4 people +) are $110. On location sessions are $225. For high school senior pricing, please call us for details or to request a catalog.

3. What's it like to be photographed at Scott Sylvia Photography?

When you schedule a session at Scott Sylvia Photography, you can rest easy knowing that Scott will be your photographer. We are not a mass production, high volume studio. Each session is tailored to meet your needs and vision of what you imagine your portrait to be. Whether classic and formal, or real life casual, Scott's award winning style of photography is as varied as each client.

It is our desire to not only help you preserve your memories, but to make the entire portrait creation process fun and memorable as well. Barbara is there to assist Scott at each session and to keep an eye on hair and all those other details that make for an exceptional portrait. We have specialized in children and family portraits for close to fifteen years now.

4. Is there a minimum purchase required?

No. At Scott Sylvia Photography there is never any minimum purchase required. There's no high pressure sales, we are here to assist you in finding the portraits or packages that best meet your needs. Whether a desk portrait or a large canvas for the wall, we want your portrait to become an heirloom that your family will treasure.

5. How much do you portraits cost?

At Scott Sylvia Photography, beautiful portraiture is affordable! You can purchase portraits individually, starting as low as $39.00 and go up to $110.00, depending on pose, size or quantity. But you'll save even more with by selecting from one of more than a dozen different portrait and wallet packages beginning at just $219.00.

6. How do I view my images after the session?

After the session, we will schedule a date for you to return to the studio for a private viewing in our projection room. The viewing usually last approximately 60 to 90 minutes depending on the type of session and the number of people photographed. Your images will be set to music in a larger than life slide presentation. You will be able to view images from gift size all the way up to large wall portrait dimensions. Selecting images is fun and easy with this method. We kindly ask that the key decision makers be present at this viewing. Children are always welcome, however, since you will want to concentrate on your decision making it may be beneficial to arrange for child care so that you are not distracted.

7. What if I don't like my portraits?

All the planning before each session, as well as the attention to detail during the session ensures that you will get portraits that you love. Scott knows how to make each person in the group look good. His low key approach makes it easy for even the most camera shy individual to feel comfortable during the session. However, if for some reason you aren't happy with your previews, let us know within one business day and we will create additional images for you at no additional charge or refund your session fee, PLUS five dollars!

8. What about payments?

We accept all major credit cards, checks and of course, cash. The session fee is required within 48 hours of booking your session. A deposit of 50% is due when you place your order, and the balance is due when picking up your finished portraits. We can even spread out your payments to three automatic credit card installments.

9. Do you have have any specials or promotions?
